Why on earth can't B and N keep fictionwise open and have them focus on their multi-format library, which is considerable. Then they could keep all the things that made Fictionwise a good deal: the buy-wise club, micropay, coupons, etc. There is a big market for DRM free ebooks (Fictionwise even had the initiative to set up its own Kindle store); are the folks at B and N just too pig-headed to capitalize on it?
