Did you place the ebook in the correct folder on the Kindle(The Documents folder.)? Did you make sure that you changed the file properties to uncheck Read Only? Did you use Calibre or Mobi2Mobi to ensure that the ebook's title isn't some string of garbage but rather the real title?
