If you scroll down to the Product Details on the
K2i page on Amazon, it says Shipping Weight: 1.7 lbs.
Kindle itself is listed at 10.2 oz, and put back into its original box with power cord & booklet, my own K2 plus everything it came with is about 600 grams when I weigh it on the kitchen scale. This is just the regular packaging, and no outer shipping box.
However, the scale tells me that 600g is a mere 1.25 lbs, so Amazon probably double-boxes it to get it up to 1.7.
K3 will probably be around the same. Hope this helps.
