I just finished
The Professor and Other Writings by Terry Castle. It was wonderful! Also, this is the first book I have read in its entirety using text-to-speech. I cannot read a dead-tree book and knit at the same time; being immersed in an exciting sideways-knit twinset pattern, I wanted to make the most of my couch time. I plugged the Kindle in (TTS eats up the battery), selected a slow, male voice, and kept knitting. I found I had to glance at the screen to get over the mispronounced words, but I was able to knit and read at the same time, and retain what I read. Perhaps next time I will turn the voice volume all the way down and see if I can read and knit as long as the pages are turned for me.
