Sunlight makes page turning difficult

I have seen some posts about people that have screen fading issues with sunlight. Mine does something a little different.

When in the sunlight the page does not fade, but if you turn a page with direct sun on the screen, the new page does not load clearly. It looks a little like you are getting low on toner.

To counter this I turn the reader on its side so the screen is in the shade whilst I turn the page.

Is this normal? Do other e-ink devices do this? or is it a Sony thing?

I would be interested to hear of other people's experiences with sunlight.
