I've actually read various posts on the forums here ever since I got my Kindle last Christmas. I just never bothered to register until now

So yeah, my husband and I are over here for the year, and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find enough reading material in English. That turned out to not be the case, but I'm still thrilled to have the Kindle. Because of a teeny volunteer-run library in this out-of-the-way town, I'm reading my first paper book in 8 months. It's the Blind Assassin, by Margaret Atwood, and it's a huge book. I saved 8 bucks by checking it out of the library here, but I prefer the Kindle. I didn't realize it would make such a huge difference to me.

Any other China folks who head to Shangri-la before November, come find me!
