Was at B&N looking the nook over and got into a discussion on this Lend Me thing with someone without a nook.

Her explanation was that you would lend the (BN) book to anyone via email, they could download the BN ereader app if they had no nook or the app, provide a credit card # for DRM purposes, and once it was loaded into the BN ereader app, it could be transferred to ANY ereader that could handle epubs (we spoke specifically of a Sony as an example).

I was a bit skeptical, but figured this would be a good place to get clarification. Not a deal-breaker or anything. Just like to have my facts straight. I can understand being able to lend to someone who only has the BN ereader app, but then moving the book to a non-BN reader seems a little far-fetched. But she insisted it was so.

Of course, she also said all pbook-equiv ebooks (orig pub date over 2 years) are $7 or less. Yeah, right.
