The market access is not sanctioned, but with a bit of work not too difficult to pull off. It actually worked quite well on my Pandigital Novel.

If you are looking for a cheap android tablet, and can get one without hardware problems, it gets the job done. At one point I had like 90 apps installed, many from the marketplace. For example, I had Kindle, Borders/Kobo, Aldiko, FBreader, Sportstap, Pandora Radio, iheartradio, Slacker Radio, IMDB, Movieflix, ESPN, etc.

I'm holding out right now because I couldn't get one without screen defects. If the black one is released soon and is hackable, I will give it a try. I am also keeping an eye out for the Velocity Cruz reader.
