Light pollution is a pet peeve of astronomers, from professionals to backyard hobbyists. I don't fall in either category, but I have considered taking a vacation in one of the few remaining areas in the country where the skies are still relatively clear just for the sheer joy of seeing the stars again.

With my luck, it would rain!
