Followed all the steps ( had found them before your reply,sorry) but your reply is more simple because I had to figure this out from other parts and you put them all together.
It worked until the use of the original sony reader software.
There it stopped and didn't do anything at all.
So unplugged it and then I was able to start the canadian updater myself.
First it doesn't find the reader, after the reboot with the connecting with the computer by usb ( man you have to be fast to do this) it worked and I could use the PRS-505 Updater 1.1.00.18040.exe
After that I used the patcher again.
Used the create firmware button (5) then flash (6) then reboot (9).
After that the device rebooted, I pressed the settings, about screen, repeatedly pressed the 0 button and there it was, Dutch.
Lost some weight here !
