Good for them! It was sad to see their troubles, because while not perfect, they brought some really nice early innovations to the e-book world. Some of what they did might even be called spectacular, even if the whole package had some weaknesses.

Let's hope that decades from now, iRex is still going strong, contributing new ideas and products to the e-book world.
