Morals aside DRM is just a nuisance but should not stop you from getting books from the library.
While there are probably other options ADE and/or Sony Reader download these books from the libray and send them to the reader. I don't think that calibre will download the books from the library but I could be wrong.
Both ADE and Sony reader need to be authorized, but this takes seconds and costs nothing.

With DRMed library books the file becomes unuseable in a certain time but you can borrow it again if you haven't finished reading it or strip the DRM.

Stripping the DRM is a highly debated topic and the same arguments are just recirculated with what is right or wrong pretty much a matter of opinion as yet. Laws will be inacted and challenged and compromises will be reached but not in the real near future.

Your choice and not too likely the DRM police will care as long as you don't distribute anything.

Many people import DRMed books into calibre to upload them but I cannot see the point myself. An added step with no benefits I can see.

I will strip DRM to get rid of those annoying headers and page numbers or big gaps between paragraphs etc.

Have fun with your new ereader and try out the other mobileread forums for all kinds of free or donation supported ebooks just to get a little practice.
