Bah. Ereaders are for reading. Books, comics, wikipedia, news sites, whatever. Sure, many websites are not feasible on an eink screen, but why shouldn't an ereader be able to visit BBC News, or CNN, or even your favorite webcomics?
Sure, they'll always be poorly suited for email or forums... they're for reading not writing. Which also means note taking will be awkward... there's just no way around that with the space provided.
