I agree about the "laugh and cry" comment. Wars, political infighting, and then suddenly you are laughing at the "butter bugs". I love all the Miles books. I've read all of them more than once, and thoroughly enjoyed them every time. I loved the comment in the time-line in the back of one of the paperback editions: "Miles hits 30. 30 hits back".
