Been happening for the past few days.. my nook keeps being stuck at the "Your device is loading up.. >"
I called B&N via Skype (I'm not in the US) and the person asked me to take out my battery and leave it out for 4 hours before putting it back and charging for 5 hours. I did just that - take out the battery for 4 hours and put it back, charge it overnight.
And today, still the same thing!

I've been worrying myself sick over this 'cos b&n isn't being very helpful and this nook was an investment cos I bought it when it was still US$250 T-T
Help appreciated!
