I love this idea!

You're not going to stop piracy, anyway, so why not make money off of it? As you stated, it will be an interesting legal wrangle. Could a publisher be taken to court for copyright infringement or promoting piracy, when they already own the copyright? I don't know.

But the idea is brilliant. Who knows? It might actually be the most effective way to combat pirates. Don't try to stop them; use them to generate income, and piss them off to the point where they don't bother, anymore.

You really should be in charge of a publisher.
