Even scarier (but again, not surprising to fellow Australians), the pbook prices on offer from the major Australian book retailers.

Angus and Robertson:
http://www.angusrobertson.com.au/sea...mediatype/all/
Hardback $41.95
Paperback $16.95 to 29.95

Borders:
http://www.borders.com.au/search/joh...mediatype/all/
Hardback $41.95 to 43.95
Paperback $19.95 to 33.95

Dymocks:
http://www.dymocks.com.au/Search/res...onnolly+lovers
Hardback $38.95 to $60.00 (yes, that's sixty dollars, it is not a typo)
Paperback $22.99 to 32.99

Today's conversion rate is 1AUD=0.91USD from xe.com

The paperback prices will be for both mmpbs and tpbs (I didn't click on all the links). Those prices are entirely typical in Australia, and are unlikely to change. Earlier this year an inquiry recommended allowing parallel imports but the publishing industry lobbied successfully to quash that proposal. I now buy my pbooks from bookdepository.
