Yeah, I read those as well. I cringe every time I turn on my Opticbook, fearing a lamp burn out. So far I have not hit the wall. I was hoping the problem had been fixed, since I could not find a report more recent than 2008.
But when I started using it, I did start with the books I wanted to scan the most, and worked my way down to lesser desired books.
