I've started Runemarks by Joanne Harris. It's an fairy tale for adults and teenagers in a style somewhat like Neil Gaiman's Stardust or Neverwhere, but quite its own, too. She's based a good deal of her "world" on Norse mythology - after Ragnarok, no less - and on northern European folklore, in a quite unique way. It's a delight to read.
