I have also emailed B&H about the new reader, even thought I'm still undecided. I'm still waiting for the Cybook and the Kindle review before buying. Anyway, this is what they replied:

Our Answer: I am Sorry, the new Sony PRS-505 is not available yet here at B&H with no expected shipping date or pricing.
New items appear on web sites and in magazine articles long before they are actually shipped from the manufacturer. In addition, catalogs and advertisements including B&H's go to press weeks or even months before customers get to see them.
Information concerning the availability, inventory quantities and delivery dates, is something that manufacturers guard very intently. Very often we find out a new item is shipping when it appears on our loading dock. Manufacturers do not share their
secretes with B&H nor any other retailer.
B&H respectfully asks you to please be patient and watch our web site. When the item in question becomes available, it will appear on our web. Here you will find any official information we know. As additional product information becomes available from Sony USA, our site will be updated that day.

B&H will only begin accepting orders on new product when we know the manufacturer has begun shipping.
