I have the same problems with OSX 10.4.10. Additionally, I'm using a Sandisk Extreme III 8GB card which the Iliad only recognizes as a 4 GB card. This card was reported to be working, and reformatting it doesn't seem to help.

I received my Iliad yesterday and I'm already incredibly impressed with the device.
