Ok, I'm confused (timpany, please-heh.) Is there something I can do to change the Adobe reader in my Sony? As for formatting I've simply gone back to saving in plain text.

I do own Adobe Acrobat 9. I don't like book covers on the prs-300 so I'll open the .PDF file I want to use, in it, then export it usually as a .DOC if I have a lot of editing to do, or just a .TXT file for quick edits in MS Word:Mac 2008. Then I'll save it as a .TXT file and use Calibre to make it into an EPUB with an extended .CSS for font options.

So are you saying that somewhere in that series I can make sure no page numbers are created?

If there are directions could you please give me the URL and I promise to be quiet and sit in the corner like a good little boy? hehe
