Toronto Public Library uses Overdrive and has a very modest, but growing, selection of ePubs (and other formats); ePub are the only ones I am interested and use my Kobo to consume them. For my account, or for any individual title, I can select 7, 14 or 21 day lending period; and I can return early which I normally do. If I put a hold on something, I get an e-mail when it's ready. The whole process is very simple and its a great way to sample authors I might be reluctant to spend $10 the first time round.
