Maybe the powers that be are planning a movie or something, and are holding back to books until they know they could command a higher price. Who knows?

If they did do a movie, I wonder who they could possibly get to fill Raymond Burr's shoes? He was nearly perfect; except in those early books, Mason sometimes got physical with the bad guys—something I could never envision Burr doing.
