Yes I was encouraged by both my parents. They used to buy me books when I was really young, then after a while I was the one going to them and asking for books. I remember when I was at school, every few months they would pass out a book catalogue and you would take it home to your parents and if you wanted you could order books from it and they would be delivered to the school in a few weeks time. I remember everytime wanting nearly every book from the catalogue!!! But I always ordered a few books every time. I used to recieve books as presents from my parents and other family members.
