1) yes it's that easy. prc=mobi. Note that you have another option. You can email the ebooks to your kindle account. It will convert it for you and install it on your kindle.

3) yes at some point calibre will have two files. However the process is import the RTF then convert the file to mobi from the UI then transfer the file to kindle. (all steps done from calibre).
