The new Kindle is smaller in size than the K2, but I don't know if the hinges are spaced the same. I have used the Amazon case on my K2 and really like the case. I never had any problems with the case cracking. But then I handle my Kindle much like I handled my books - very carefully! (My grandmother was a librarian!
