I’ve been expecting a price poop at Christmas but the new kindle is going to speeding it up fast. The kindle is getting stronger on its advantages but what was lacking before is still lacking (No support forf epub, can’t read library books, no micro SD expansion). For me, the lack of capability to read library books is really a deal breaker.

The market is getting ferociously competitive; multi-function low cost Android tablets at the same price range with true web browsing, video display and the ability to read various ebook formats are emerging. When Nook WiFi came out in June, it had a good competitive edge. Now barely one month later, Kindle 3 arrives. Frankly, Kobo is so far behind the eight ball that it is not in the league. I really enjoy my nook but I can’t help but kick myself of not waiting a little bit longer. I don’t want a kindle; I want a more discounted nook.
