Not to belabor the point, but this is absolutely spot on.

My library is going to start offering ebooks on Monday. And they will be EPUB only. No mobi. Because of this, I had started considering purchasing an epub comp. device to go along with my K1. But the K3 is very tempting ... very, very tempting ... despite the fact I'll be giving up on epub support.

One of my colleagues at work...a very techie person at that...will not buy one of the new Kindles because of the epub issue. He's going to buy a Sony or Nook. He doesn't care about wifi or 3G...but being able to read a book obtained from the library is important. And he doesn't want to have to fiddle with scripts to remove DRM. And I can't blame him. I do it, but that doesn't mean I like having to do it. But as long as there is DRM (either Amazon's or Adobe's) I will continue doing it. But like my colleague, or like my father, general users are not going to.
