Apologies for reviving such an old thread, but when I saw this in the PRS-600 user manual (yes, it's repeated there, just for good measure) I laughed so loud I frightened my cat!
Perhaps she was afraid that the wording meant it didn't apply to cats? I think Sony should be more comprehensive with their instructions...
