It is what we try to do, and this has been discussed even in recent times, based on that difficulty of knowing when the Mod-hat is on or off (sometimes, even when not posting in green, just to make sure, I even specify that my "Mod hat is NOT on"). Hopefully the suggested "bold, green" thing, and signing off "Moderator" on any moderator post, will clarify (Note, we've even talked about what of the colours of green we should use ).

It's a good idea, and is approaching "standard". Dr. Drib has been a leader in this respect, which I know newbies like me and dreams are apt to follow.
