I'll try it if i can get it. I tend to to pass by the exotic fruit section in the supermarket because the fruit rarely is worth it (due to the transport time etc. I assume). Perhaps I should simply wait for a time when I visit a place where it grows naturally  )

My grandmother has a small orchard of Guava trees, about 12 or so. Her home is 500 miles from me, since she passed 2 yrs ago I have not visited it. But an uncle lives there and I will suggest it to him.
It's best to try guava if you can get it fresh, otherwise it will just disappoint you because it gets leathery. You'd want it when it still has some "crunch" to it.
