I read a lot of 19th century novels, which use many words that have fallen out of use today. Although you can generally guess the meaning of the word from its context, it's nice just to be able to tap the word on the screen and instantly see its meaning, and because it's so convenient, it doesn't interrupt the flow of reading, as looking it up in a paper dictionary would.
