Our home was built in the 30's. We have a genuine pantry that is like a shallow closet about 6 inches deep, lined floor to ceiling with shelves that perfectly fit quart canning jars. It has a slatted door the keep the light off the food. Everyone who sees it is as charmed as I was. I keep the canned goods in it.
