I went ahead and downloaded this one because I'm a diehard Sharyn McCrumb fan. She is one of those writers who can really change genres at the drop of a hat. St. Dale, which I read in paperbook a while ago, is nothing like her Appalachian books, and she's got a few other "odd" ones as well. I can't say that I really follow NASCAR, but as a rule Ms. McCrumb is able to command my interest in whatever she chooses to write about.
