I'm a new member of MobileRead and my name is Beth Quinn Barnard. I've published seven novels as Elizabeth Quinn, all of which will be coming out in new editions -- print on demand and eBook -- over the next year from Straight Up Press. The first, ALLIANCES, is now available at Amazon but the formal announcement won't come until next week. I'd been interested in electronic and print-on-demand books for more than a dozen years, seeing them as an eco-friendly way to market new titles and keep back lists evergreen. But it wasn't until I examined Google's proposed settlement with authors of books the company had digitized without permission that I decided to actually get my own back list back into print. I don't currently own an ereader -- still considering the ever-expanding options -- but my mother loves her Kindle and my daughter is warming up to hers as well. While I'm deciding, I'll take advantage of all the information available here to learn all I can.
