The iPad is too heavy to hold -- which is why I don't hold it up in the air when I'm reading. It rests on my lap or belly with one finger holding it up. It took me about a weak to get comfortable with my iPad.

I've read about 20 books on it so far...it's replaced my iphone as my preferred reader.
