Just to clarify regarding the free offerings for books in the U.S. vs. $2 in Canada. If I do not use Whispernet to download the book (sync over USB?), does that mean I can download the book for free?

Also, is it possible to get access to the entire U.S. catalog or does it require a U.S. credit card? I believe I have a Amazon.com account through some purchases in the past already.

Thanks, just thinking of getting a Kindle and just doing some research.
