That is exactly what I was not sure about, whether deleting the recent file list would actually have anything at all to do with the coolreader cache, I suspect it does nothing else but delete a list of files - and as such it is useless but for the obvious purpose of deleting the recent file list.

And I do not mind erasing the HD or SD every so often, I have backups of everything in duplicate, and I enjoy trying to figure things out - or not - but you are right, caution is advised since Linux just deletes stuff without confirmation prompts and I would not want to be the cause of someone else on this forum losing all of their books!! I would feel terrible about that!!
