I had a long look at the Sony PRS-300 and the Sony PRS-600 at a store yesterday.

I prefer the PRS-600 - it has two external card slots, making it easy to transfer data back and forth on SD cards, and the touch screen means it's possible to make freehand notes on documents, which is essential for me. I found the screen (at least in the store) to be perfectly acceptable. If you want to read fiction, the PRS-300 is probably ok, but if you want to actually work with documents, I think the PRS-600 is the better bet. I've never seen a Nook.
