Whether you can use an e-reading device with your Mac will depend a good deal on what device you have in mind -- some would work and others wouldn't, and still others would work if you're willing to jump through some hoops. Did you have a particular device in mind?
It may also depend on what OS you're running on your Mac, but unless it's an older OS, it probably wouldn't make a difference.
