Nathanael says hello

A few days ago I broke my Hanvon 510. Slipped it in my hip pocket 'cause I needed my hand for something; stupid 5" reader was so small I forgot it was there and sat on it.

Anyhow, I'm on the prowl for a new reader and stumbled across mobileread.com.

Really can't decide what to get. My primary constraint is that it's hard to find most of the better stuff here in Shanghai. Sonys and Hanvons are everywhere, but Nooks, Cybooks, and some of the other interesting stuff is scarce to non-existent. I've had mixed luck shipping things here - often enough they just disappear enroute.

Kindles are starting to appear, but DRM-tethering, Amazon's closed ecosystem and especially the Kindle's lack of open format (read: epub) support are deal-breakers for me.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. And if anyone's had any luck shipping to Shanghai, I'd love to hear about it.
