Just because someone enjoys one form of entertainment doesn't mean they reject all others. After all, the 100 Classic Book Collection for the DS wasn't published just to waste space on store shelves. And it's definitely not wasting space: It's #73 in the top 100 video game-related items on Amazon, across all platforms.

So don't diss my DS!

As for why on Earth someone who owns as many books as I do would shell out twenty bucks for some PD books for the DS? Simple: the DS fits in much smaller pockets than my 505 (or your iPad) and thereby reduces the number of times I find myself with that horrible, empty feeling of booklessness.

I wonder what the people who go on and on about "Internet addiction" would say about the fact that I hate not having reading matter of some sort available at all times? All of their criteria could apply to me and my reading habits. I guess because paper books were around before the Internet, it's okay.

(oh, and Ogg, if we all liked the same things, there would be a terrible shortage of haggis)
You've misread into my post. I wasn't "dissing" any machine. My husband is a gamer, by the way. I was responding to a post in response to an ongoing discussion about why CD books had not taken off. Someone posted about a game machine serving as a portable reader. I think it unlikely that most people buy a game machine to read on; not that there aren't some who will want to read on it, too.
