I'll finish this one and "Barrayar", but unless things pick up I don't think I'll be reading anymore Bujold.
With Miles you have romance (Barrayar, Shards of Honor, Komarr, A civil campaign), crime (Cetaganda), space opera, harder sci-fi (not very hard but more), they're very different styles. But hard, hard, in Lois McMaster's, no, sorry.
