borisb --- that's not quite right. A pen from any Tablet PC / laptop which uses a compatible Wacom digitizer will work --- there were a couple which used different (non capacitive) technologies such as Finepoint's which won't work.
One can dismantle a Wacom pen and place the electronics in a different housing though, but I'd suggest only doing that w/ a spare pen which one is willing to potentially sacrifice (they're a bit fragile and the tolerances are close).
