I agree completely. I became convinced I needed a DX shortly after reading the middle part of the hardcover version of The Passage. It was pleasant to be able to read that much on a single page. The DXG has been everything I hope for - I am reading it carefully without the case, which I expect tomorrow.
By the way I also could not replace my Kindle with my Ipad. Different animals despite what nearly 100% of the media touts. I could not keep reading with the temptation of the Ipad's other capabilities and it does have a very reflective screen, which I have much problems with, for reading books in highly lit situations. Reading by the window or outside in the morning was difficult for me.
I am keeping my Pad though - it's other attributes make it worth keeping.
