I have a Kindle DX and most 'busy' pdf's are still pretty so-so in my opinion. Also, I have not seen a good pdf table of contents that works. I think that if you want to properly view pdf's on a portable device you really need an i-pad, laptop, or netbook pc. Maybe this will change/improve in the future.
