Legal Thriller - To Speak for the Dead by Paul Levine

Just joined today, so if I foul this up, please cut me a break.

I'm an ex-lawyer, ex-TV writer ("JAG" & "First Monday") and currently a novelist. I write the "Jake Lassiter" series, the "Solomon & Lord" series, plus the stand-alone thrillers "9 Scorpions" and "Illegal."

Jake Lassiter is a linebacker-turned-lawyer, always looking for justice, but seldom finding it. In "To Speak for the Dead," he defends a surgeon accused of killing his patient in order to be with the patient's wife. That doesn't sound terribly exciting, but trust me -- there's a murder trial the likes of which you've never seen.

The book was an international bestseller in its day, and it just became an e-book, priced at $2.99, with all proceeds pledged to the Four Diamonds Fund for cancer treatment at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital. You can read more about that here. http://thelipstickchronicles.typepad...r-charity.html

"Night Vision," the sequel, is also an e-book for $2.99 on Kindle, Smashwords, the iTunes store, B&N, and others. In that one, Lassiter is appointed a special prosecutor in a case involving a serial killer preying on women on an Internet dating site. All proceeds from that book are pledged to...well, me. Same for my Supreme Court thriller, "9 Scorpions."

There's more to tell, but I've taken up too much of your time already. I'd love to hear from readers, and I look forward to posting other items, not devoted to self promotion!
