On the way home this morning I passed a sign that said it was 86⁰ already at 8:00 A.M. I thought, "That can't be right," and then the announcer came on the radio and said it was 90⁰ in our neighboring city of Norfolk.
By the way, we pronounce it the same way here as I've heard the English pronounce Norfolk. And I don't mean "nor-folk" or "nor-fick". If the following school chant makes no sense to you, you're pronouncing it wrong:
.....We don't smoke!
.....We don't drink!
.....Norfolk! Norfolk!
There's a possibility of t-storms this afternoon.
