Sorry, the linux file system is not available. Only the Fat partition is visible as the USB drive. And it's not very easy to attach a serial cable, either, even after you open it up.

None of the commercial ereaders allow access to the linux file system. It would be too easy for users, knowledgeable or ignorant, to make fatal changes.
